Begin or deepen your exploration of the Tarot Strength card with me this January, 2026. What is your relatationship to Strength, privately within you, and how you exercise and experience it out in the world? The Strength card invites you to explore how you align and prepare your heart, your resources, your passions, and your ideas as you deepen your relationship to utilitizing your strength for your own pursuits and exploring how others in the world exercise their strength. We write to a wide variety of tarot card imagery, we reflect on our past and present experiences of the card , and we create personal tarot card art based on 1) our lived experiences and 2) our “wished for” experiences. The card we create acts as both a witness and a visionary tool. We just finished The Chariot card course; the depth of inquiry and heart connection experienced the last six weeks continues to inspire me to teach these courses.

Tarot Journaling: Strength runs for six weeks on Sundays, beginning January 11, 2026 through February 15, 2026. Held over zoom, 2:00-3:30 pm PST / 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm EST. Offered by Antioch University Continuing Education (Online). Course Cost is $100.

In this six-week course we explore how Strength, Major Arcanum VIII, symbolizes various types of strength we can develop over the course of our lifetime.

The four Minor Arcana Eights in the tarot deck offer a chance to reflect on the questions about how we’ve experienced Strength in the past and how we’d like to change our approach heading into the present and future:

How do we garner the strength to discern which cups of the heart to let go of and which will best guide our next quest (Eight of Cups)?

How do we ground our habits in productive ways as we learn to master our manifesting skills in their strongest forms? (Eight of Disks)

How do we confront false internal narratives about our lack of agency to claim our true strength? (Eight of Swords)

How do we increase our capacity to playfully and passionately consider incoming forms of communication to strengthen the momentum of our choice of action? (Eight of Wands)

These are the kinds of in-depth questions we will address in writing and discussion. You will learn a method for tarot journaling and a handful of other simple tools designed to help you begin and deepen your relationship to tarot. You’ll have the optional opportunity to create a personal tarot card using your own personal symbols that resonate for you. No prior experience with the tarot or with art-making is necessary. Tarot images from a variety of decks will be provided, though you are welcome to work with your own deck of choice.
