Third Thursdays at Duncans Mills Candle Co
April 21, 2025

What a beautiful Pink Moon celebration we had in Duncans Mills on April 12! Duncans Mills Candle Co. did a beautiful job of creating a gorgeous day for everyone. I gave 3 card readings all afternoon to the beautiful scents wafting from the candle store and a steady stream of revelers (many dressed in pink) enjoying the live music, fragrance bar, and beautiful ambiance created by so many of the merchants participating. The Russian River holds a very special place in my heart (and my husband’s—we met as kids at Monte Rio school), so it means a lot to come and spend time in this particular community, giving and receiving love.

My family moved to the Russian River area when I was 11 years old. And later, after pursing my MFA in poetry in graduate school in the heartland, I returned to marry my husband and former childhood friend. Shortly thereafter, while pregnant with my first child, I taught in the English Department at the Santa Rosa Junior College. Though we have long since relocated to San Diego, we still spend time at the family home in Monte Rio and call both cities home.

I am so very grateful to have been invited be part of Third Thursday “afternoon into dusk” celebrations that start up in May in Duncans Mills. I’ll have more details about additional activities, but you’ll find me again hosted by the Duncans Mills Candle Co. and giving three card Angel Tarot readings from 3-6 pm on a first-come, first-served basis in May, June, July, and August. I am in love with Radleigh Valentine’s Angel Tarot deck and the combined energies of angel and tarot archetypes that create a very gentle lens through which to explore questions of the heart. Readings come with a free tarot PDF designed to help you deepen your tarot engagement based on the theme of the month.

Please save the dates…and I look forward to seeing you there; anyone who buys three or more candles at these Third Thursday events at the Duncans Mills Candle Co has the chance to put their name down for a drawing to win a free hour-long tarot reading over zoom.

Though both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day will have passed, I would still love to honor Mothers in May and Fathers in June (but of course, all questions and querents–seekers–welcome).

July’s theme honors the nurturing energy of Cancer or other water signs with the metaphor of the White Rose. And what about those lions?! Come out for the Heart of the Lion in August, honoring the magnificent passion of the Leos or other fire signs.

Tarot blessings from your Tarot Muse!
